Over the festive period Northumbria Healthcare Manufacturing and Innovation Hub welcomed the Blyth Rotary Club to pack Christmas hampers for families in the local area.
Over 25 volunteers from Blyth Rotary Club came together to pack 70 hampers which included everyday essentials such as vegetables, bread, cereal and tinned food.
Gerald Wallace, a volunteer from the club said: “This is the sixth year that we have packed Christmas hampers and they will go to families in need across Blyth. Christmas can be a difficult time for many and hopefully these hampers will make things a little easier.
We’d like to thank Northumbria Healthcare Manufacturing and Innovation Hub for letting us use their space in the factory unit. We have 70 hampers to distribute and having a big space to sort the items out has been a massive help.”
The hampers were distributed by volunteers on Friday 23 December.
